Full Grain Leather Shoe Care
Simple care helps protect the leather, shape, shine, and sole of your Mariqueño formal shoes.
DO'S
- Wipe off dust and dirt after every use with a soft, dry cloth.
- Apply a thin layer of Mariqueño Leather Conditioner to keep the leather soft, protected, and shiny.
- Use a shoe horn to protect the back of the shoes.
- Use shoe trees or clean paper to help maintain their shape.
- Let the shoes rest and air out before wearing them again.
- Store them in a cool, dry place.
DON'TS
- Do not soak the shoes or regularly walk through water. Water can weaken the adhesive on the sole protector, causing it to separate or crack.
- Avoid letting your shoes hit or rub against each other while walking. This can scratch, cut, or puncture the leather. Deep damage cannot be fully repaired.
- Do not wash them in a washing machine.
- Do not use alcohol or wipes on the leather upper. You may use them on the rubber sole, but wipe gently and avoid touching the leather.
- Do not dry them under direct sunlight or with a hair dryer. Too much heat can dry out and crack the leather.
- Do not apply too much conditioner. A thin layer is enough.
If Your Shoes Gets Wet
- 1 Wipe off the water immediately.
- 2 Place clean paper inside to absorb moisture and maintain the shape.
- 3 Let the shoes dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
- 4 Once fully dry, apply a thin layer of Mariqueño Leather Conditioner.
Reminder
Natural creases and slight color changes are normal in full-grain leather. With proper care, your shoes will develop more character over time.
